From L.A. and its 80 degree weather I arrived to 25 degree weather and a mean wind chill. I flew into Dulles and found out that cab fare to my hotel in traffic would be about $75 to $100. I decided to brave the traffic and rent a car and find my way to the hotel. To my surprise, D.C. traffic actually isn't as bad as I expected.
After I got checked in, Matt and I did a Washington D.C. by night tour. It was cool to see the monuments despite the cold weather. We saw the Jefferson, Washington, and Lincoln monuments. The Vietnam and World War II memorials, Arlington cemetary, the Capitol building, the various Smithsonians, the White House, the Blair House, and all the other sites of D.C. All of my pictures turned out poorly, so I'm using pics from Wikipedia.
We also had an amazing tour of the Capitol thanks to Mike's sister Diana that works for Senator Bob Bennett. It was really, really cool. We saw the Senate in session and listened to the Senator from Rhode Island whining about the possibility that his state wouldn't get funding (more about this in a future rant on politics) for a zoo in a STIMULUS package.
I saw the Spy Museum (which was really cool) and ate at a ton of good restaurants. It was a great trip and I can't wait to go back...next time Kara will be coming with me.

Dude, let us know when you come back. We come down and meet you guys. We love DC.
We will for sure...this was such a quick trip, next time we'll plan something out and give you a heads up before we get there.
If I hadn't talked to Diana I wouldn't believe you had been to D.C. Pictures from Wikipedia? Come on!!! :)
My pictures from the cell phone are all blurry and look horrible. Next time I'm packing a good camera...actually I'll bring my photographer Kara--problem solved.
