Been a little more than a week now since Kara and the boys took off to Canada. I've been a bachelor for a week now and the novelty has worn off. I'm used to walking in the door and getting mugged by the boys, or doing my routine of finding them in their not-so-good hiding places. The house is way too quiet! It is times like these that remind you of how important family is and how much you really do enjoy them.
I was able to go to my parents house last week and have dinner with just my siblings. With Kara out of town, Joe at home, and Tara in Idaho it was just me and my brothers and sisters and a few of their kids. It was really enjoyable. We had dinner and laughed and played some games of H-O-R-S-E (which Curtis won both of them). As near as I can tell it has been at least a decade if not more that we've been together just as my parents and siblings. Kind of weird without Dave there, but very fun to be all together. It was nice to take a break and just hang out with the fam.
Sometimes I get so busy trying to keep my business going forward and making sure that everybody at work has what they need and are happy that I don't take the time I should for my own family. Far too many hours at the office and unfocused hours at home.

I'm lucky to have such a supportive wife and good kids. I couldn't ask for more support than they've given me. I appreciate Kara supporting my wild ideas and my entrepreneurial quirks. She really is the greatest. I'm also lucky to have parents and siblings that have supported me throughout my life and continue to be a major part of my life.
So to all my family, thanks for putting up with me and being such an important part of my life. Love you all!
