Connor, our oldest son, was asking the other day to buy some Pokemon cards. I told him I didn't want to pay $5 for a pack of lame Pokemon cards and mentioned that I had stacks upon stacks of basketball, baseball, and football cards in the attic and his Grandma and Grandpa's house. Ever since then he's asked everyday for me to go get them. So tonight I braved the attic and went to grab the cards. After about choking on the dust from the cards had accumulated I brought them down and split some of them up amongst the boys. It was kind of fun actually, it reminded me of all the hours Brad and I spent scheming about trading with our buddies and how best to complete our collections--which we were sure were going to make us rich. Well fast forward 20 some odd years and we now know they are virtually worthless but they are now bringing our boys the same innocent joy and excitement they brought us.

I am just glad that you have finally admitted that they are virtually worthless and can not be our retirement nest egg. Sorry to burst your bubble, but they won't last long around our house, I am not the queen of clutter! But I do love you for being a great dad to those crazy boys!
do you not owe these to michelle?? i believe you boys are in debt to her? just from the legends?
Jess...Michelle is full of it, you can quote me on that ;)
Yes and thank you for adding the stacks to our house as well. Even this morning our oldest had them in his pocket to take to school to show all his friends. Call him Brad jr.
Tara. You are welcome. Glad I could be a part of a making sure your boys are getting an opportunity to be nerds like their dad and uncle. ;)
Just for the record I was paid in full. I have more basketball cards than any girl this side of the Mississippi! I am still counting on being using them as our nest egg. Please don't burst my bubble again Kara. :)
